(born 1972) is a Russian independent film director and producer.
Graduated from the Russian State University of the Humanities (Faculty of Museology, Art History) and the Studios of Individual Directing (Film and Theater Directing). From 1997 to 1999, he worked as a director on the video project Svoi Zhurnal, dedicated to processes taking place in contemporary art (together with Vladimir Levashov). Silvestrov is one of the founders of the art group Mu-Zei.
Silvestrov and Leiderman’s collaborations have been shown in solo exhibitions at the Icon Gallery in Birmingham (2007) and at the Gregor Podnar Gallery (Kefir grains are going onto the flight, 2005).
The project is realized as part of the International Cultural Programme of the Polish EU Presidency coordinated by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute.
The project is cofinanced by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland.
